Entered Budenniy Military Communications School in 1952. From August 1958, Senior Engineer for Trials at 4-NII MO research institute. Thereafter positions of increasing responsibility, specialising in tracking and control systems. Retired from the service in 1990 on health grounds. Thereafter First Deputy Director of the Scientific Research Information Centre.
