Norman Duane Viste American Engineer. Born 24 September 1939. Chief Engineer for Atlas III and V

Personal: Male. Born in Mower, Wisconsin, USA.

Top structural analyst who began working for General Dynamics in 1963, assigned to the Atlas Centaur booster. In the 1990's and 2000's he was Chief Engineer for the Atlas III and V launch vehicles, making the move with the company from San Diego to Colorado in 1997. Viste was considered by his peers to be in the class of Atlas inventor Charlie Bossart in his ability to understand nearly all of the required technologies and make sound decisions.
