ISS EO-29


ISS long-term residence mission. Launch delayed six weeks due to Progress M-12M launch vehicle failure. Crew: Shkaplerov; Ivanishin; Burbank. Backup crew: Padalka; Revin; Acaba.

Mission consisted of:

  • Launch of the Soyuz TMA-02M spacecraft with the ISS EO-28 crew of one Russian, one NASA, and one JAXA crewmember
  • Docking of Soyuz TMA-02M spacecraft to Mini Research Module Rassvet (MRM1)
  • Operational support for docking to SM IC and unloading of Progress M-11M cargo vehicle
  • Final unloading of Progress M-10M cargo vehicle
  • Operational support for loading and undocking of Progress M-11M cargo vehicle
  • Operational support for docking to SM IC and partial unloading of Progress M-12M cargo vehicle was planned, but called off when Progress M-12M failed to reach orbit
  • Operational support for loading and undocking Soyuz TMA-21 spacecraft from Mini Research Module Pirs (MRM2), followed by return to the Earth of the three ISS EO-27 crewmembers
  • Support of rendezvous of two ISS-29 Russian crewmembers and one NASA crewmember by Soyuz TMA-22 spacecraft
  • Support of docking of Soyuz TMA-22 spacecraft to Mini Research Module Poisk (MRM2)
  • Operational support for loading and undocking of Progress M-10M from Module Pirs (DC-1)
  • Operational support for docking of Progress M-13M to the Module Pirs (DC-1)
  • Partial unloading of Progress M-13M vehicle
  • Loading and undocking of the Soyuz TMA-02M spacecraft from Mini Research Module MRM1 Rassvet
  • Return to the Earth of the three ISS-EO-28 crewmember
  • Support of the Space Station operations and maintenance
  • Performance of the science and application research program and experiments
