Altitude Sounder Russian earth atmosphere satellite. Study 1969. Used the KAUR-1 bus, which consisted of a 2.035 m diameter cylindrical spacecraft body, with solar cells and radiators of the thermostatic temperature regulating system mounted on the exterior.

DS-U1-R Ukrainian earth atmosphere satellite. Cosmos 335. Studied spectral range of the UF. Atmospheric research satellite built by Yuzhnoye, Russia. Launched 1970. Used DS Bus.

Aryabhata Indian earth atmosphere satellite. The Soviet Union assisted India in development of Aryabhata, its first satellite, named for the Indian astronomer. The satellite conducted scientific experiments on atmospheric research. Science satellite for ISRO, India. Launched 1975.

DAD American earth atmosphere satellite. Dual Air Density; air density experiments.

Clark satellite American earth atmosphere satellite. Cancelled in 1998 when overruns had reached 20% of original price and no end to development was in sight.

TOMS-EP American earth atmosphere satellite. Earth Observing satellite built by TRW for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), USA. Launched 1996. Used the T100 bus.

ADEOS Japanese earth atmosphere satellite. The polar orbiting ADEOS spacecraft was to perform Earth, atmospheric, and oceanographic remote sensing. Earth Observation satellite built by Mitsubishi Electric (MELCO) for NASDA, Japan. Launched 1996.

TRMM American earth atmosphere satellite. TRMM was an international mission dedicated to measuring tropical and subtropical rainfall. Earth Observing satellite built by NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for NASA, NASDA, Japan. Launched 1997.

Mimosa Czech earth atmosphere satellite. Satellite by the Czech Astronomical Institute for study of the density of the upper atmosphere using the sensitive Macek accelerometer. Atmosphere density satellite built by Space Devices Ltd. of Praha for Astronomical Insitute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (Astronomicky ustav AV CR), Czechoslovakia. Launched 2003.

SCISAT Canadian earth atmosphere satellite. Atmospheric science satellite built by Bristol Aerospace for CSA, Canada. Launched 2003.

Aura American earth atmosphere satellite. Earth Observing System (EOS) Aura was a NASA mission to study the Earth's ozone, air quality and climate.

Ibuki Japanese earth atmosphere satellite. Greenhouse Gas Observing Satellite, renamed Ibuki after launch.
