On August 14, 1969, NASA was forced to take on seven pilot-astronauts from the cancelled USAF MOL military space station program. All of these men would have to wait to the shuttle era for space missions, but they all would eventually fly.

	Hartsfield	Henry Warren (Hank) Hartsfield Jr. American Pilot Astronaut. Born 21 November 1933.
	Overmyer	Robert Franklin (Bob) Overmyer. American Pilot Astronaut. Born 14 July 1936. Died 23 March 1996.
	Peterson	Dr Donald Herod (Don) Peterson. American Mission Specialist Astronaut. Born 22 October 1933.
	Truly	Richard Harrison (Dick) Truly. American Pilot Astronaut. Born 12 November 1937.
