Erich Apel Engineer. Born 1917. Died 1965. Member of German Rocket Team in the Soviet Union after World War II. Personal: Male. BEng German manufacturing engineer during World War II. As of January 1947, Allies believed he was living at Creya bei Bleicherode Suedharz (Russian Zone of Occupation). In fact , he had been transferred to the Soviet Union with other members of the German rocket team. He later was a Minister of the German Democratic Republic.
