1961 - 1966 Kleinfeld Primary School Germering Experience: January 1986 - February 1988 research associate at the University of Colorado (cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences) in cooperation with PROFS (Program for Regional Observing and Forecasting Systems, NOAA, Boulder, Colorado). Since March 1988 Training at the German Aerospace Research Establishment (DLR) as science astronaut for the D-2 mission. In January 1992, assignment as backup payload specialist for the D-2 mission. April 26th - May 6th, 1993 Participation in the D-2 misson (STS-55) as Alternate Payload Specialist in the ground control center of DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen. 1994-present: Project Manager for GLOBE (International school environment program) at NOAA/Forecast Systems Laboratory, Boulder, Colorado, USA.
