Louis William Butterworth American Payload Specialist Astronaut. Born 17 July 1948.

Personal: Male, Married. Born in Casper, Wyoming, USA. Bachelor of science in engineering and master of science in mechanical engineering from CalTech, 1970 and 1971 respectively. Worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: Payload Specialist. Inactive Entered space service: 5 July 1984. Left space service: 28 January 1986. Alternate payload specialist to Gregory Jarvis on STS-51D.

Later worked at Hughes Space and Communications, then a Vice-President at DirecTV Inc.
