Farkas Chronology

1 March 1978 - Intercosmos Cosmonaut Training Group selected.. Training group of potential 'guest cosmonauts' for propaganda flights to the Salyut space station. The 'guests', from states allied to the Soviet Union, would be flown on Soyuz lifeboat changeout missions to the station.


26 May 1980 - Soyuz 36. Assignment: Prime Crew. Flight: Salyut 6 EP-5, Salyut 6 EO-4. Transported the fifth international crew under the INTERCOSMOS programme, comprising V N Kubasov (USSR) and B Farkas (Hungary) to the Salyut-6 station to carry out scientific research and experiments.
3 June 1980 - Landing of Soyuz 35. Assignment: Return Crew. Flight: Salyut 6 EP-5, Salyut 6 EO-4. Soyuz 35 landed at 15:07 GMT, 140 km SE Dzehezkazgan, with the crew of Farkas and Kubasov aboard.
