Astronaut Career Astronaut Group: Test Pilot (USSR). Inactive Entered space service: 1963. Left space service: unknown. Began work informally as ealry as 1963 on the EPOS Spiral spaceplane. Officially designated as a Spiral test pilot from 1965 until 1969. From 1976 - 1978 chief test pilot for the MiG-105 reduced scale version of the Spiral OS spaceplane.
