Hoernig, Otto William Jr (1938-) British engineer payload specialist astronaut, 1984-1986.

Bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Texas A and M University, 1960. Master of science in aerospace systems management from the University of Southern California, 1969. Contel ASC employee. Commercial Payload Specialist Selection 5 in November 1985. Assigned to Shuttle Flight STS-71C (Mission ASC-2 / Skynet-4B deployment), which was cancelled after Challenger. From February 1987 Vice President Contel ASC.

Birth Place: Kansas City, Missouri.
