Astronaut Group: Air Force Group 13 - 2003. Training Entered space service: 29 May 2003.

Ivanishin was a Captain in the Russian Air Force at Petrozavodsk when selected. A senior fighter pilot with the VVS, he had flown MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters.
