Personal: Female, Married. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA. Civilian Bachelor of science in engineering science from Florida State University, 1969. Ph.D. in metallurgical engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, 1973. Worked at Marshall Spaceflight Center.

Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: Payload Specialist. Inactive Entered space service: 5 June 1983. Left space service: 6 May 1985. Scientific Payload Specialist Selection 3 in 1984. Named as Alternate Payload Specialist (together with Eugene Trinh) to Taylor Wang and Van den Berg for Shuttle Flight STS-51B / Spacelab-3. Unsuccessful applicant for NASA astronaut Group 9.

Worked at the Tennessee Space Institute.
