Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: IMBP Group 5 - 1989. Inactive Entered space service: 25 January 1989. Left space service: 17 January 2002. Cosmonaut training 1 October 1990 - 21 January 1992. Participant on different long-duration experiments of IMBP (SFINCSS-99). Left cosmonaut corps involuntarily by order of the Director, IMBP.

Left IMBP at his own request and was moved to other work in the Russian health care system.

Karashtin Chronology

25 January 1989 - IMBP Cosmonaut Training Group 5 selected.. Physicians and biomedical specialist cosmonauts for planned missions to the Mir space station.
