Personal: Female. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, USA. US Air Force Bachelor of science in radiation health physics from the University of Lowell, 1978. Master of science in computer science from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, 1979. US Air Force Astronaut Career Astronaut Group: DoD Group 2 - 1982. Inactive Entered space service: September 1982. Left space service: September 1990. Assigned to a StarLab mission, but was injured on 16 June 1988 in a car accident in Boston (together with astronaut Puz). Resigned from active astronaut duty in September 1990. Retired from the USAF and worked later in Virginia.
LaComb Chronology 1 September 1982 - DoD Astronaut Training Group 2 selected.. The group was selected to provide shuttle manned spaceflight engineers to operate military payloads.. Qualifications: USAF officers with bachelor's degree in science or engineering; four years experience in flying or space-related activities. Vision minimum 20/150 uncorrected, correctable to 20/20.
