Personal: Male, married, three. Born in Moscow, Russia. MD Institute of Medical Biological Problems Candidate of medical sciences degree, 1988. Worked at the IMBP in Moscow.

Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: IMBP Group 1 - 1972. Inactive Entered space service: 22 March 1972. Left space service: 4 June 1974. Left cosmonaut group for medical reasons after being injured in an automobile accident.

He resumed work at the IMBP, reaching the position of senior-scientist.

Machinski Chronology

22 March 1972 - IMBP Cosmonaut Training Group 1 selected.. Physicians and biomedical specialist cosmonauts for planned missions to the Salyut space station.
