Min Guirong

Specialist in engineering thermophysics and space technology. Born in Putian, Fujian Province. Graduated From Nanjing Institute of Technology in 1956. Received candidate Ph.D. from the Institute of Power, former USSR Academy of Sciences in 1963. Research professor, Chinese Research Institute of Space Technology.

In the early 1960s, Min established the discipline of space thermophysics to develop China’s space technology. He solved a series of scientific and technological problems in spacecraft thermal control and heat simulation testing, and completed creatively various flying tasks and testing requirements. In the 1980s, he led and coordinated the comprehensive research and development of Chinese photographic position satellite and made loading test plan of microgravity of China's recovery satellite, reaching world advanced level. He made important contributions to the development of Chinese microgravity science and technology. He has published more than 60 articles and books, and received special prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 1985 and 1990.

He was elected Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1991.
