German expert in guided missiles during World War II, went to America after the first Paperclip group, arriving on 16 November 1945 aboard the Argentina from La Havre. As of January 1947, working at Fort Bliss, Texas with von Braun's team, moved with them to Huntsville, Alabama, by 1952. Died in Sequim, Clallam, Washington, where he had moved from San Diego in 1975.
