Parks, Robert J (1922-) American engineer, worked on the Mariner, Ranger, and Surveyor programs; served as JPL's planetary program director in the 1960s, then became JPL associate and finally deputy director.

Robert J. Parks , was a long-time employee of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), coming there in 1947 after completing his education at nearby California Institute of Technology. Closely associated with robotic planetary exploration, he worked on the Mariner, Ranger, and Surveyor programs. He served as JPL's planetary program director in the 1960s, then became JPL associate and finally deputy director.
