Ponomaryov, Yuri Anatolyevich (1932-2005) Russian engineer cosmonaut, 1972-1983. Was married to astronaut Valentina Ponomaryova.

Graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute with a pilot-engineer's degree, 1957 Civilian Engineer, Korolev OKB. Trained for a Salyut mission with Klimuk / Kovalyonok 1971-1975. Trained for a Salyut 6 mission with Dedkov 1975-1977. Departed program for medical reasons. Worked for the Russian government. Died in Kadaya, Russia.
