Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: Female Group - 1962. Entered space service: 1962. Left space service: 1962.

Joined the Antonov design bureau in 1947. She learned to fly and at some point was commissioned as an officer in the Soviet Air Force. By the time she met future cosmonaut Pavel Popovich in 1955, she was a Major, a test pilot and holder of 13 aviation world records. Following her retirement as a Colonel, she was a world-renowned UFO expert.
