Bachelor of science in physics from University of Pittsburgh, 1960. Ph.D. in physics from Johns Hopkins University, 1967. Backup for John-David Bartoe (STS-51F). Research scientist at U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, Washington DC until retiring due to illness in 2000.
