Dr George Warren Simon American Payload Specialist Astronaut. Born 22 April 1934.

Personal: Male, Married, Three children. Born in Frankfurt, Germany. PhD US Air Force Bachelor of arts in Physics and Mathematics from Grinnell College, 1955. Master of science and Ph.D. in Physics from CalTech, 1961 and 1963, respectively. MBA from the University of Utah, 1976. US Air Force Research scientist at Air Force Geophysics Laboratory in Sunspot, New Mexico.

Astronaut Career

Astronaut Group: Payload Specialist. Inactive Entered space service: 9 August 1978. Left space service: 6 August 1985. Selected as backup for STS-51F.

Peak Observatory, Sunspot, New Mexico.
