Left space service: 10 October 1991. Number of Flights: 1.00. Total Time: 7.93 days. One of five Austrian candidates in 1992 ESA selection. He made the short list of 25 candidates, but was not selected in 1992 and 1998. Assistant professor at University of Vienna. Then became Rockwell International's Austrian representative. From April 1997, Director of International Programs at Boeing North American pace Systems Division in Downey, California. From July 1999 Boeing International, Vienna. From 1 September 2002 worked for an Austrian company. Music, playing the piano, traveling, sports (especially waterball, skiing, tennis). Viehboeck Chronology 1 October 1989 - Austrian Commercial Cosmonaut Training Group selected.. The group was selected to provide Austrian candidates for the Austromir mission to the Mir space station. 1991 August - Soyuz TM-13A (cancelled). Assignment: Proposed Prime Crew. Flight: Soyuz TM-13A. Soyuz TM-13 and TM-14 crews were reshuffled extensively due to commercial considerations and necessity of flying a Kazakh cosmonaut. This was the original crew assignment. Kaleri and Avdeyev were replaced by Kazakh researchers in the final crew. 2 October 1991 - Soyuz TM-13. Assignment: Prime Crew. Flight: Mir EO-10, Mir Austromir, Mir EO-9, Mir LD-3. Manned three crew. Docked with Mir. Mir Expedition EO-10. Transported to the Mir manned orbital station an international crew comprising the cosmonauts A Volkov (USSR), T Aubakirov (USSR) and F. Viehbock (Austria), to conduct joint scientific and technical research with the cosmonauts A. Artsebarsky and S Krikalev. Austria paid $ 7 million for mission. Kazakh cosmonaut added at last minute. 10 October 1991 - Landing of Soyuz TM-12. Assignment: Return Crew. Flight: Mir EO-9, Mir Austromir, Mir EO-9, Mir LD-3.
