Astronaut Group: Payload Specialist. Inactive Entered space service: March 1985. Left space service: January 1986. Commercial Payload Specialist Selection 1 on June 26, 1983. Unsuccessful application for NASA astronaut group 13.

Systems engineer on the Joint Direct Attack Munitions program.


Wood Robert Chronology

1986 July - STS-61-M (cancelled). Planned TDRS/IUS deployment shuttle mission. Cancelled after Challenger disaster.


1987 February - STS-71-D (cancelled). Planned shuttle mission for deployment of commercial communications satellites. Cancelled after Challenger disaster.
