Young, Lawrence Retman (1935-) American engineer payload specialist astronaut, 1991-1993.

Bachelor of arts in physics from Amherst College, 1957. Bachelor of science in electrical engineering from MIT, 1957. Master of science and Sc.D. in electrical engineering and instrumentation from MIT 1959 and 1962, respectively. Professor of aeronautics and astronautics at MIT. Selected as candidate for STS-58. Director, National Space Biomedical Research Institute, Houston, Texas.
