Russian communications satellite. Study 1994. The Lavochkin Geostar-MSS communications system was designed in association with Moscow NII Radio-communications.
Analogous to Applied Mechanics' Marathon, the constellation would consist of three spacecraft in geosynchronous and four spacecraft in Molniya-type orbits. The satellites would be equipped with Ku-band transponders. The program appeared to be in an early stage of development in 1994, and no date for a first launch was ever set.
