1986 August. (Cancelled flight). Crew: Young, Bolden, McCandless, Hawley, Sullivan. Program: STS.

On the lighter side: Young, on hearing they had named a main road in Orlando, Florida, the John Young Parkway: "Them boys shouldn't a'done that. I ain't dead yet". Planned shuttle mission for deployment of Hubble space telescope. Cancelled after Challenger disaster.
