Pakistani single-stage solid propellant tactical ballistic missile. Indigenous Pakistani design, developed by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).
An initial two-stage missile design using Hatf-1 / French Stromboli engine technology was flown in January 1989, thought cancelled in 1994. Development then undertaken of a single-stage vehicle using new solid propellant motor technology with double the range of the first version. This was flown in March 2003 and given an operational designation.
Standard warhead: 500 kg (1,100 lb). Maximum range: 290 km (180 mi). Boost Propulsion: Solid rocket. Initial Operational Capability: 1992.
