Barak

Barak was an Israeli ground based, mobile or stationary air defense system using the Barak Vertical Launch Missile. The system provided hemispherical coverage against aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, UAVs and stand-off munitions. A proven anti-missile capability was claimed. The system contained 12 missiles, and could be operated either alone or netted with other firing units. The radar used narrow beam Ka frequency band, providing good ECCM immunity. The highly automated system allowed instant response with a fully computerized firing sequence and had minimal personnel requirements.
