Space Based Laser
American military anti-satellite system. Study 1996. The Operational SBLOV (Space Based Laser Orbital Vehicle) was the final space based chemical laser system envisioned at the end of the SDI / Star Wars program.

Status: Study 1996. Gross mass: 30,800 kg (67,900 lb). Height: 35.00 m (114.00 ft).

In its 1996 version it would weigh 30.8 metric tons and be 35 meters in length. It eventually was to be stationed on an aircraft and became the ABL Air Based Laser. By 2000 SBL was again being discussed to deal with the 'rogue state' ICBM threat.
