Status: Operational 1983. First Launch: 1983-02-04. Last Launch: 1983-08-05. Number: 2 . Gross mass: 720 kg (1,580 lb).

N launch vehicle. Osaki launch site, NASDA Tanegashima Space Center, Kagoshima, Japan. Geostationary. Establishment of domestic satellite telecommunications network mainly for natural disaster, emergency and for remote islands using submillimeter wavelength and micro-wavelength signals. Development of the technology of communications satellite.
